An exciting distillery featuring an ex-Karuizawa still (Still K) and a wood-fired pot still (Still W), Shizuoka distillery (静岡蒸溜所) is owned by Gaiaflow Co. Ltd. and is located in Ochiai in the Aoi Ward of Shizuoka.
This Shizuoka was distilled in 2018 and aged for 4 years in an ex-bourbon barrel, then bottled by independent bottler Blackadder under their Raw Cask series, meaning they were bottled complete at cask strength (and may contain cask sediment), with no chill-filtration, caramel coloring or flavoring. Bottled for Whisky Festival 2023 in Yokohama.
