Guyana's Enmore and Port Mourant (sometimes spelled "Morant") distilleries were once icons of premium Demerara rum but were sadly closed and demolished as the Guyanan government consolidated and privatized its sugarcane plantations and distilleries, moving their heritage stills (a wooden Coffey still from Enmore and a double wooden pot still from Port Mourant) to the single remaining distillery (Diamond distillery) in Guyana, now owned by Demerara Distillers Ltd (DDL), the makers of El Dorado rums. While DDL attempts to recreate the unique flavour profiles of Enmore and Port Mourant, we think it's better to source for the rare, original bottlings and offer them at M&E Drinks!
This bottle of Enmore (single cask WP91536) was distilled in 1991, aged in Europe for over 27 years, then bottled in 2019 by The Wild Parrot, a joint project by established independent bottlers Hidden Spirits & Stefano Cremaschi.
