The Jura distillery is the only one in the Isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides off the West Coast of Scotland, which also has only one road and one pub. Founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, the distillery fell into disrepair twice before being rebuilt and expanded by two local estate owners in 1963, which included the installation of taller stills, allowing the distillery to create a mix of malts. Jura distillery is currently owned by Whyte and MacKay, and produces a variety of peated and unpeated whiskies.

This Single Malts of Scotland bottling under their "A Marriage of Casks" range is a respectable 29 years old, consisting of just five ex-bourbon casks, all filled between 1991 and 1992.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Honey and soft ripe fruits, pears and apples with a hint of toasted caramel, some subtle coastal aromas add a nice little twist to the nose.

Palate: From the front to the back of the Palate comes a rich smooth and fruity palate, with a honey and vanilla, creamy honey and soft spices, hints of fresh baked patisseries, some hazelnut and peach leading to a rich finish from this outstanding dram.
