Named after the highest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis distillery was founded in 1825 in Fort William, a coastal town in the West Highlands. Drawing its water from the  Allt a’Mhuilinn which originates from two pools on Ben Nevis, the distillery is currently owned by the Japanese distiller Nikka and has two wash and two spirit stills, producing around 2 million litres of alcohol per year.

This excellent offering by the independent bottler Whisky-Fässle came from a single hogshead containing distillates from 1997, then aged for 23 years before bottling in 2020. Rated 90 points by Whiskyfun.com. Sounds like a fun drink!
