The Yamazaki distillery (山崎蒸溜所) is located in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, part of Suntory's storied whisky portfolio. Japanese whiskies are enjoying a renaissance, with aged Yamazaki in particular, subject to enthusiastic, and at times frenzied, buying.
The 2023 Limited Edition of Yamazaki consisted of whiskies aged for at least 12 years in Mizunara oak casks. The carton label features "tiger stripes", a mark of high quality wood, as well as Yamazaki's storage rooms with its delectable rows of casks.
