The Yamazaki distillery (山崎蒸溜所) is located in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, part of Suntory's storied whisky portfolio. Japanese whiskies are enjoying a renaissance, with aged Yamazaki in particular, subject to enthusiastic, and at times frenzied, buying.
After a four year hiatus (the last Limited Edition released before this was in 2017), 2021 saw a much welcomed return of the Yamazaki Limited Edition consisting of whiskies 12 years and older aged exclusively in virgin Mizunara casks.
