The Taketsuru (named after the company founder) is a blended offering of Nikka, containing distillates from their flagship distilleries, Yoichi (lightly smoked from locally sourced peat in Hokkaido) and Miyagikyo (producing a non-peated style near Sendai). Due to overwhelming demand and inadequate stocks, Nikka has recently removed age statements from new Yoichi and Miyagikyo single malt offerings.
Released to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Nikka, this special edition of Taketsuru 21 Year Old is non-chill filtered and bottled at a higher than usual ABV of 48%.
