Glenfarclas distillery is based in Ballindalloch, Speyside. Glenfarclas translates as meaning valley of the green grass, and is one of the few remaining privately held distilleries, being owned and run by the Grant family. The distillery has six stills which are the largest on Speyside and are heated directly by gas burners. Famous for their traditional, heavily sherry-influenced style, the distillery has approximately 68,000 casks maturing on site, in traditional dunnage warehouses, with stock from every year from 1953 to the current year. Bottled in the mid 1990s, this Glenfarclas 25 Years Old was bottled in a blue ceramic jug made by the London based company Hancock Corfield & Waller. Size: 70 cl ABV: 43% Fill level: Unknown (ceramic jug) With box?: No (note that the decorative mesh wiring is broken at one point, see red circled parts). |
