Ardmore distillery is located in Kennethmonth, Aberdeenshire. Currently owned by Beam Suntory, it was set up by William Teacher's son, Adam in 1898 as filler for their blended whisky, Teacher's Highland Cream, and today remains the principal component of this popular brand. Originally bottled Ardmores are principally aged in bourbon or port wood at 40% or 46% ABV, while cask strength bottlings are few and far between, and only done by independent bottlers.

It's here! The second release of the Singapore-exclusive bottling from M&E Drinks (together with our friends at Porcine Partners). This Ardmore was distilled in 2008 then aged in an ex-Laphroaig cask before bottling in 2019. We loved the creamy, egg tart and custard nose (perhaps not surprisingly considering Ardmore is a major component of Teacher's Highland cream), balanced nicely by subtle peat and honey-vanilla. The palate continues the creamy theme, with an intensity and forwardness that belies its 60.1% ABV, followed by a long, hoppy finish. As usual, we bottled this non-chill filtered with no added coloring. Of the 241 individually numbered bottles released, only limited quantities remain and will be sold exclusively through this site until they are gone forever.
