The Springbank Distillery is one of the last remaining in Campbeltown, from its heyday of over 30 active distilleries producing quality whiskies in the 19th century. Located on the Kintyre Peninsula and drawing water from Crosshill Loch, Springbank is now owned by J & A Mitchell & Co. Springbank produces three core ranges, Springbank proper, which are usually medium peated; Longrow, a highly peated style, and Hazelburn, a triple-distilled, non-peated whisky.
This Hazelburn was distilled in Dec 2002 and bottled Nov 2018 at cask strength from a single cognac butt, making it one of only 414 bottles. A real rarity in cask type for this Campbeltown distillery.
